Asian Wildlife Foundation is governed by the Board of Trustees and guided by a Board of Advisors. The objectives of the Foundation are translated into action by an efficient team of professionals.
Board of Trustees:
T Mallikarjuna Reddy – Chairman and Founder Trustee - an avid wildlifer who is seriously concerned about the threats to forests and wildlife, he firmly believes in the active involvement of the private individual and private enterprises in protecting habitats and endangered species. He also feels that for conservation to be truly successful, public-private partnership is an absolute must. An industrialist, Mr. Reddy is on the boards of many companies in India and abroad.
Prabhu Podipireddy – Managing Trustee – An accomplished wildlife photographer, his travels in India and Africa have brought him close to nature. He has won many awards in India and internationally for his photography, and has conducted many wildlife related photo workshops and camps. Being always close to his subjects, he has abundant experience in the areas of wildlife protection, conservation and education.
S V R Sastry – Trustee – An insurance professional for 26 years, Mr Sastry believes that by educating children one can make a positive impact on the future of wildlife. Mr Sastry looks after the education wing of Asian Wildlife Foundation.
P V Sandhya – Trustee – Founder President of Vijay Foundation Trust (VFT), Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, she heads this Indian NGO working for the betterment of women and children. Working at the grassroots level since 1992, VFT provides social, economic and infrastructural help to underprivileged women and children. (www.vftrust.org)
Board of Advisors:
Shekar Dattatri - An internationally acclaimed, award-winning wildlife and conservation filmmaker based in Chennai, India, his films have aired worldwide on international television channels such as National Geographic and Discovery. An ardent naturalist since the age of 10, he has keenly observed, and been closely involved with, varied conservation issues in India. Moving away from a career in television documentaries, he has devoted the last five years to producing conservation films targeted specifically at decision makers in and out of government. Some of these films, such as ‘Mindless Mining – The tragedy of Kudremukh’ and ‘The Ridley’s Last stand’ have helped bring about lasting changes on the ground. Vinod Reddy - An alumni of IIT Kanpur and IIM Ahmedabad, he is a software and management professional based in Chennai, and spends at least one month in a year in the wilds. He is associated with several NGOs in the area of HIV/AIDS, and is a Trustee of South India Aids Action Programme (www.siaapindia.org), one of India's first NGOs in the field. He assists the European Union in formulating policy in this difficult sector. Asian Wildlife Foundation benefits tremendously from his professional advice.
Jan Kockum – A entrepreneur in the Swedish construction and property industry, he is a keen wildlifer, and an Indophile who visits Indian national parks regularly. He has always been a strong supporter of AWIFO.
Kavuri V Choudary – An environmental consultant based in New York, USA, he has pioneered many works and studies on environment, conservation and sustainable development. He is an expert in pollution control methods and management. He supports the foundation by helping it link up with like-minded organizations in the United States
